The authors of the article describe two rare cases of congenital anomalies of the stomach. In the first case, whole stomach was located intrathoracally by the first rear costophrenic angle and rotated in a way of a torsion. As seen in the X-ray images, the stomach was mistakenly held either for a bronchopneumonia or for an absces, due to the changeability of its content. It was an examination after a peroral administration of a contrast medium that made a correct diagnosis of a stomach anomaly possible. In the second case, an extraordinary anomaly of the stomach has been observed, with an agenesis of the antrum and with the ostium of the pylorus on a small curvature close to the cardia. The stomach had difficulty to evacuate, especially if the patient lay on his left side. An accompanying gastroesophageal reflux caused an inflammatory condition of the esophagus.
