The possibilities of psychological interevention in preparation of children to demanding and stressful examinations and treatment methodsReview article

A child who feels anxiety in an unknown situation, and somehow it manifested, it behaves normally. The children treated in the Clinic of Paediatric Haematology and Oncology teaching hospital in Motol are exposed to many stress factors such as anticancer treatment, a long time spent in the hospital, and the unplanned hospitalisation for complications, including the need for commuinatipon with a child of incomprehensible messages. Part of the treatment is a series of tests including diagnostic display. In our work we show some posibilities, how to prepare child patient for intensive examination and we bring observed principles that are proven in contact with children's patients in general. In the text we entitle several possible procedures, how to communicate with children and reduce their naturally anxiety reaction and fear.
