Ultrasonography of kidney and urinary bladder in childrenReview article

Ultrasonography (US) of kidneys and urinary bladder is the most frequently performed ultrasonography investigation in children. To obtain valid results from this investigation not only good theoretical knowledge, but also correct investigation technique is needed. Investigation of kidneys in children compared with investigation in adults has some specifics. In this article large spectrum of indications of kidneys and urinary bladder ultrasonography is discussed, the technique and method of investigation are clearly described and the basic quantitative paramentres which are necessary to achieve and evaluate are mentioned.
