Pelvic venous disease (PeVD) is a common cause of chronic pelvic pain andother symptoms. It is a complex issue (previously referred to as pelviccongestion syndrome) characterized by pathological venous drainage of thepelvis due to reflux or obstruction. In diagnosis, it is crucial to accuratelyassess the causal relationship between findings on imaging modalities and theclinical presentation, and determine the pathophysiological pattern ofinvolvement. If the association between symptoms and PeVD is established, themethod of choice is endovascular treatment, which has high technical andclinical success rates and minimal complications when appropriately indicated.
