The occurence of deep ileofemoral thrombosis in children is rare. The authors present a case where aberration of the pelvic vein known as - May-Thurner syndrome become complicated with the deep ileofemoral thrombosis. May-Thurner syndrome is caused by left common iliac vein compression by the overlying right common iliac artery. The patient was treated with local administration of plasminogen activator in the dose of 0,8 mg/h/24 h and selfexpanding stent was placed into the left common iliac vein. Familial thrombophilia was discovered with the presence of factor V gene mutation - Leiden. Longlife anticoagulation therapy was recommended. Ultrasound follow-up confirmed patency of the pelvic veins without residual thrombosis.
