Aim: To evaluate technical possibilities of scanning and raw-data reconstruction usable for dynamic cardiac myocardial perfusion using computed tomography.

Material and method. The serial dynamic myocardial imaging using prospective ECG triggering was performed in 14 patients with heart rate below 75/min. The diastolic phase was used in 10 patients, systolic in 5 respectively. Examinations were done after intravenous application of iomeprol with concentration of 400 mgI/ml. 50 ml with flow rate 5 ml/s were used in 10 patient, 30 ml with flow rate 5 ml/s in the rest of 5 patients. Data were reconstructed using experimental software to obtain data for perfusion analysis. Both acquisition protocols were used.

Results: Due to the decreased number of artifacts, the systolic phase showed to be the optimal for dynamic perfusion CT data acquisition. The volume od 30 ml of contrast agent with flow rate 5 ml/s found be sufficient to perform perfusion analysis.

Conclusion: Our own experience proved the possibility of perfusion imaging of the myocardium using serial dynamic CT data acquisition when the systolic phase is used after contrast agent bolus injection.
