The initial experience of using an AI-based brain morphometry program for diagnostics of neurodegenerative diseasesOriginal article

Brain tissue morphometry further improves the radiologist?s assessment ofbrain atrophy. Conventional programs using this method are of limited use innormal practice due to their relatively long calculation time. Artificialintelligence, thanks to its speed, enables the routine use of morphometrics.Because the technology is relatively new, its contribution in day-to-daydiagnostics has not yet been clearly determined. This text summarizes ourinitial experience with this method on a pilot cohort of patients withneurodegenerative diseases and describes those advantages and limitationswhich became apparent during our usage of the program.
