Spondylodiscitis is a rare but serious infection affecting the intervertebral discs and adjacent vertebral bodies. It most commonly arises through hematogenous spread and requires prompt diagnosis using a combination of laboratory and imaging techniques, with MRI being the gold standard. Diagnosis is often delayed due to nonspecific symptoms. Treatment involves prolonged antibiotic therapy and, if necessary, surgical intervention. Regular clinical, laboratory, and imaging monitoring is essential for effective management. Prognosis depends on early diagnosis, presence of comorbidities, and the occurrence of complications.

Keywords: spondylodiscitis, spinal infection, magnetic resonance imaging, antibiotic therapy, differential diagnosis, vertebral osteomyelitis.
